Life as a teacher in Japan

A good friend just sent me the link to this hilarious site (click title above) maintained by a brutha' teaching English over in Kyoto. If you find yourself curious at all about some of what I experienced during my 6 and half of years of working in the public school system here in Japan, do check this site out.

Pee-your-pants-rating: 4 stars

Admittedly, there are some entries that disturb the overly-serious-straight-laced-stick-up-the-bum teacher part of me, but certainly, interesting reading.

...and for those of you who have attended/taught in a school in Japan, you might appreciate this here t-shirt.

Monkey King,
That pee your pants rating, dead on! I have never been served a kancho. I did get it once in the crotch though. I see the kid all the time (friend's kid). First he stabbed my husband in the crotch, so I gave him a good ear flicking. Then he stabbed me. I was dumbfounded. He's only 8!

Also, about the lock on, could they possibly be saying it right? Think of it in this sense, "Lonck on. Possitions locked. FIRE!"? It does have a reference to firearms...

Given that I haven't gottne back to Japan since we returned to the States 25 years ago, it's fascinating (and humorous) to learn about the little Kancho assasins that have sprouted as well as about other sapects of Japanese life not generally meant 'for export'. Thanks for the link.BTW, where is the monkey in his travels?
